Big White Bike Park Gears Up for Exciting Summer Trail Expansion
While it's still early in the season, with work having just begun a few weeks ago, riders can already look forward to some exciting upgrades that are ready to enjoy. Recent highlights include a full rebuild of Gecko and Squirts, new berm shaping ahead of the Insta360 wall ride, and a fresh feature added to Stacked Deck. Riders will also notice new elements taking shape on Slabbath and Hubba, as we continue refining and evolving the rider experience across the mountain. Finally, a new skills park in the heart of the village allows for never-evers and beginners to get comfortable on the bike before progressing into the bike park.
Behind the scenes, our team is currently building what promises to be one of the most exciting additions to date: a new blue flow trail that starts near Rhonda Lake Road and winds its way down to the Joker hub. Featuring a standout wood feature, this trail will ultimately serve as an uphill extension of Stacked Deck. This section is our top priority this summer and is well underway with two machines already working on it.
Following that, work will begin on a beginner-to-expert skills park just above TELUS Park, featuring three progressive lines (blue, black, and double black). Each line will include terrain-appropriate features designed to help riders level-up their skills in a dedicated space.
In the Spruce zone, we’ve also started cutting in a new single-track trail near the top of Dark Roast, with a timeline likely of summer 2026.
What You Need to Know:
- New Trails in Development: Three trails and one skills park are planned, expanding the bike park by almost 10% this season.
- Anticipated Openings: The new flow trail is expected to open later this summer. The skills park timeline is weather-dependent. The Spruce Zone trail will open in 2026.
- Reminder: Trails under construction are not open to the public. Poaching incomplete trails not only delays progress but creates safety risks for riders and staff.
“We’re really excited to bring these world-class trails to life. The build team is working hard to open them as soon as possible,” said Drew Gobeil, Patrol Director.“ We can’t wait to show off all the fun new features that we’ve developed. Please remember to stick to open trails and as always, be courteous to other guests in the park.”

A Look Back: From Concept to Trail
Big White Bike Park officially opened in 2017, aiming to bring world-class lift-accessed riding to the Okanagan. The inaugural season launched with just under 10 trails, but since then, the park has steadily expanded, driven by both rider demand and strategic investments in sustainable trail building to now deliver close to 30 trails. The terrain has become known for its mix of rugged alpine tech, creative flow, and wide-open views, a unique blend that keeps riders returning season after season.
