Ridge wind SW-W 35-45 km/h gusting to 50-60 km/h today, becoming W-NW 30-40 km/h gusting to 45-55 km/h this evening and finally 15-25 km/h gusting to 30-40 km/h overnight. Meanwhile, freezing levels up to 2400-2800 m today, then falling to 600-1000 m overnight.

Synopsis

A low moving through central interior BC is expected to bring mild conditions and periods of rain today, then drying out tonight with a return to seasonal alpine temperatures. A ridge of high pressure is expected to build into the region tomorrow with fair and dry conditions expected through the weekend. Moderate-strong ridge winds today, becoming light-moderate tonight, and finally moderate on the weekend. Meanwhile, freezing levels up to 2400-2800 m today, 1000-1400 m tomorrow and finally 1200-1600 m on Sunday.

3 to 5 Day Outlook

Increasing cloudiness but still dry on Monday with light-moderate ridge winds and slightly milder alpine temperatures. Next, an impulse associated with a strong Pacific low impacting the central BC coast is expected to bring periods of light snow and moderate-strong ridge winds on Tuesday. Meanwhile, freezing levels up to 2000-2400 m on Monday, falling to 1600-2000 m on Tuesday.
