Big White Ski Resort Ltd Donates $5,000 to Assist Big White Mountain Early Learning Centre

The Big White Mountain Early Learning Centre has 12 kids enrolled, ranging in age from 18 months to five years, and all live on the mountain. Big White Ski Resort’s Loose Moose was on hand to help with the cheque presentation, and entertain the kids. 

This is the second year the Big White Mountain Early Learning Centre has been open, and classes follow the same September to June schedule as the Big White Community School. The centre is fully funded by the parents’ tuition, and through donations from the community. 

The space used by the Early Learning Centre was donated by the Big White Community School (founded in 1997 by parents and community members, with the Happy Valley school building built in 2005), as part of school district 51. 

“We are thrilled to continue our support of the Big White Community School and the Big White Mountain Early Learning Centre, now in its second year,” said Michael J. Ballingall, Senior Vice President at Big White Ski Resort Ltd. “The ownership group has been a big part of the school since day one, and has assisted the community, developers, industry partners, and parents in supporting fundraising for the youth of our community through the school.”
