Step into a magical winter wonderland with our Twinkling Trail! Located in the Adventure Park, this illuminated walking path is perfect for visitors of all ages. No special equipment or skills are needed—just a love for the outdoors and the beauty of the season. The trail features stunning light displays that create a serene and enchanting atmosphere, making it a must-see during your visit. The Twinkling Trail offers a peaceful escape into nature after dark.

The Twinkling Trail will be open from dusk to dawn daily until April 6th, 2025.
Purchase a Day Trail Pass or Season Trail Pass to access the Twinkling Trail.

Twinkling Thursdays: a weekly event until March 27, 2025
Kick off the evening with a Light Walk Craft where kids can decorate their very own paper lanterns to bring along the trail. Sip on complimentary hot chocolate while you craft with us. Then, step into the magic of our Twinkling Trail in Happy Valley. As you stroll, soak in the glow of the dazzling lights, hang your lantern or bring it home and cherish the memory.

Trail ticket does not include tax (5% GST) or $10 Card Fee. Ticket pricing subject to change without notice. Trail Pass can be purchased from the Ticket Office in the Village Centre Mall.
No Trail Pass is needed if you have a current Seasons Pass, Day Lift Ticket or Powder Card, access to the trails is included.

Helpful Information

  • The trail is open to all ages, children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Warm winter clothing and sturdy footwear are recommended for the trail.
  • Due to weather conditions, sections of the trail may be closed without notice for safety.
  • Dogs are welcome in the Twinkling Trail but must be leashed at all times – always clean up after your pet
  • Do not touch any of the light structures, this could result in your pass being revoked.

Operating Dates & Times

Open for your enjoyment from dusk until dawn mid- December until April. Weather and snow dependent.

Quick Tips

  • Prepare for changing weather and temperatures.
  • Wear proper winter boots with a good grip for walking.
  • Snow pants or warm layers are recommended, especially for children.

How to Get There

  • From the Village Centre: Take Lara's Gondola to Happy Valley and cross the bridge to the Adventure Park, follows signs for ‘Twinkling Trail’.
  • By Vehicle: Park in the Happy Valley Parking Lot and walk to the Adventure Park, follow signs for Twinkling Trail.

Facilities

  • Hot snacks and beverages are available for purchase in the nearby Happy Valley Day Lodge.
  • Heated washroom facilities are located in the Happy Valley Day Lodge.

Why is there a fee to access the trails?

  • All users must have a ticket. Guests with a current season passes, day ticket or Powder Card have trail access included for free.
  • The Nordic trails, snowshoe trails and twinkling trail are located within the Controlled Recreational Area of Big White Ski Resort Ltd. BWSR must maintain the usability and safety of these trails.
  • We have dedicated staff from our Grooming, Patrol, Resort Services, Parking, Snow Removal and Food & Beverage Teams working daily to ensure ticketed guests have safe access to our trail network.
  • When the snow melts, our maintenance program continues to ensure a safe and reliable operation during the winter. This includes machinery maintenance, tree removal, brush cutting, sign maintenance, and light installation.
