Synopsis
A ridge of high pressure continues to build over the region today with fair, dry and well above-seasonal conditions (alpine temperature inversion) expected through Friday. Light ridge winds are generally expected through Friday. Meanwhile, freezing levels up to 2600-3000 m are expected today, falling to 1400-1800 m tonight, then increasing to 3200-3600 m tomorrow, before falling back to 2400-2800 m on Friday.
3 to 5 Day Outlook
The ridge will break down by the weekend allowing for a series of impulses associated with successive Pacific lows to move through the region, bringing scattered flurries and moderate ridge winds on Saturday, followed by periods of snow and light-moderate ridge winds on Sunday. Meanwhile, freezing levels are expected to fall to the 1600-2000 m range on the weekend.
