- If you’re travelling only within Canada, your provincial healthcare will cover medical emergencies, including COVID-19. However, purchasing Emergency Medical Insurance for travel within Canada for just a few dollars a day, will supplement the costly expenses of air or ground ambulance services, air evacuation, emergency dental services, medical appliances like crutches and wheelchairs, and more.
- If you’re travelling within Canada as well as worldwide in the year ahead, consider a Multi Trip Annual Worldwide policy. With this economical plan option, travel within Canada is automatically covered. Plus, TuGo's Emergency Medical Worldwide plan covers COVID-19 medical and related expenses for fully or partially vaccinated travellers.

Emergency Medical Insurance for Visitors to Canada
- • If you’re travelling to Canada from abroad, the Canadian government recommends that you buy a minimum of $100,000 in travel insurance coverage before you arrive in Canada. TuGo’s Visitors to Canada Emergency medical Insurance covers hospital care and treatment for injuries and illnesses including COVID-19**.
Downhill mountain biking, including fat biking on downhill mountain biking trails, downhill freestyle skiing/snowboarding in organized competitions, high-risk snowmobiling, ice climbing, and more aren’t covered under standard Emergency Medical Insurance. To take it to the max with one of these activities, add Optional Sports & Activities Coverage to your policy.
- This insurance reimburses for non-refundable prepaid unused travel costs (like an excursion) if your travel plans are cancelled before departure or interrupted after the trip has begun, due to unforeseen* circumstances.
- If you’re travelling only within Canada, for just one trip, a Single Trip policy is the best option.
- If you’re travelling more than once within Canada and/or worldwide in the year ahead, consider a Multi Trip Annual policy.
