Fat Biking Trails

Don't want to give up biking for the winter? Bring your fat bike and explore Big White's backcountry terrain. Our designated fat bike trail - Trapping Meadows winds around our Nordic trail system in Happy Valley, making it a great day out. 

Passes are required for access to the Nordic trail system.

Trail ticket does not include tax (5% GST) or $10 Card Fee. Ticket pricing subject to change without notice. Trail Pass can be purchased from the Ticket Office in the Village Centre Mall.
No Trail Pass is needed if you have a current Seasons Pass or Day Lift Ticket, access to the trails is included.

Helpful Information

  • Be prepared for varying weather conditions and temperatures. 
  • Wear warm winter clothing with layers
  • Insulated winter walking footwear is the best option for this activity
  • Please ensure you stay on designated trails and obey all posted signs - see the map below (and at trailheads)

How to Get There

  • From the Village Centre - Fat Bikes are not allowed in Lara's Gondola. Please ride along the public road down towards Happy Valley, turn left into the parking lot and cross the bridge into the Happy Valley Adventure Centre, follow the Nordic Trail Signs. 
  • By Vehicle - Park in the Happy Valley Parking Lot, proceed to the Adventure Centre.
  • By Vehicle – Park in the Black Forest Parking Lot, proceed to trail head (as marked). 

Facilities

  • Hot snacks/beverages available for purchase in the Happy Valley Day Lodge and Black Forest Day Lodge.
  • Heated Washroom facilities in the Happy Valley Day Lodge and Black Forest Day Lodge. 

Why is there a fee to access the trails?

  • All users must have a ticket. Guests with a current season passes, day ticket or Powder Card have trail access included for free.
  • The Nordic trails, snowshoe trails and twinkling trail are located within the Controlled Recreational Area of Big White Ski Resort Ltd. BWSR must maintain the usability and safety of these trails.
  • We have dedicated staff from our Grooming, Patrol, Resort Services, Parking, Snow Removal and Food & Beverage Teams working daily to ensure ticketed guests have safe access to our trail network.
  • When the snow melts, our maintenance program continues to ensure a safe and reliable operation during the winter. This includes machinery maintenance, tree removal, brush cutting, sign maintenance, and light installation.
