Big White Ski Resort Celebrates Second Annual Rock the Foundation in Support of Youth Mental Health
More than 400 guests attended the sold-out outdoor fundraiser, arriving in colourful 1960s outfits for a night of live music, dancing, and community spirit. The entertainment lineup featured performances by The Malpractice Misfits, Sonic Tide, and dance-floor headliner Rex, who kept energy levels high well into the night.
“Supporting Rock the Foundation for a second year is something we’re incredibly proud of and we’re committed to helping it grow year after year,” said Darcy Arnold, chief operating officer of Big White Ski Resort Ltd. “This was more than just a party. It was a powerful display of community coming together to support youth mental health.”
“It’s a privilege to be part of an organization like Big White that is so dedicated to giving back to the community,” said Michael J. Ballingall, senior vice-president at Big White Ski Resort Ltd. “We know these funds will be put to good use, and we’re proud to continue supporting local charities and community initiatives throughout the year.”
“We are so grateful for the incredible support provided by key organizations in Kelowna, first and foremost of which is Big White Ski Resort Ltd.,” said David Rush, chair of the organizing committee.
In addition to Big White, presenting sponsors included Gorman Bros. Lumber, Valley Mitsubishi, Callahan Properties Ltd., Pihl Law Corporation, Troika Developments, Rush Ihas Hardwick LLP, and Andre’s Electronics.
“It is such a privilege to be part of Rock the Foundation,” shares Chandel Schmidt, VP of Philanthropy at the KGH Foundation. “It’s an inspired event, bringing our community together in celebration and support. We’d like to extend an enormous thank you to the organizers (Dave Rush, Sean Pihl, Maxine Dehart, Michael Koss, Michael J. Ballingall, and Rick Maddison) — we are so grateful for their commitment, generosity, and dedication to raising awareness and funds for healthcare. Donations will continue strengthening Youth Mental Health programs in Kelowna, helping ensure at-risk children in our community have the proactive support they need to live happy, healthy lives.”
While final totals are still being finalized, organizers expect this year’s fundraising to surpass last year’s results — another meaningful step toward improving access to mental health support for youth in the region.
