Big White Ski Resort to Open Early on Friday, November 22
Originally scheduled to open on November 28, recent snowfall has built a solid 60 cm snow base at the village elevation of 1,755 metres, with summit measurements reaching an impressive 102 cm at the Cliff Chair Weather Plot, situated at 2,025 metres. These conditions have enabled the resort to welcome skiers and snowboarders ahead of schedule.
Big White Ski Resort to Open Early on Friday, November 22 Big White Mountain, November 17, 2024 – Big White Ski Resort is excited to announce it will open six days ahead of schedule, kicking off its 61st season on Friday, November 22, 2024. Originally scheduled to open on November 28, recent snowfall has built a solid 60 cm snow base at the village elevation of 1,755 metres, with summit measurements reaching an impressive 102 cm at the Cliff Chair Weather Plot, situated at 2,025 metres. These conditions have enabled the resort to welcome skiers and snowboarders ahead of schedule.
“We’ve had enough snow in the last couple of days that we can safely open the Ridge Rocket Express on Friday, along with the Easy Out, Highway 33, and world-famous Serwa’s runs,” said Darcy Arnold, Chief Operations Officer of Big White Ski Resort.
The early opening marks an exciting start to the season, giving guests a chance to hit the slopes sooner and enjoy the fresh snow.
What’s Open on November 22:
- Ridge Rocket Express with Easy Out, Highway 33, and Serwa’s runs
- Plaza Chair (the first quad chair in British Columbia)
- The Gondola with its associated runs
- Lifts will operate daily from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
To celebrate the early start, lift tickets will be available at half-price on opening day and until further notice.
