Detailed Forecast

Overcast with mix of rain and snow is expected today, then changing over to light snow tonight and scattered flurries lingering tomorrow morning, before clearing out through tomorrow afternoon, with rainfall amounts of 3-6 mm today, and total of snowfall amounts of 5-10 cm possible today through tomorrow. Moderately strong ridge winds are also expected today, tonight and tomorrow. Meanwhile, freezing levels in the range of 1600 m to 2100 mm are expected today through tomorrow.

Synopsis

An impulse from the a Pacific low tracking to the east through the area is expected to bring a mix of rain and snow today, then light snow tonight and scattered flurries lingering tomorrow morning, before returning to fair weather by tomorrow afternoon. Moderate to strong ridge winds are expected today through tomorrow. Meanwhile, freezing levels in the range of 1600-2100 m are expected today through tomorrow.

3 to 5 Day Outlook

A ridge of high pressure building up over the region will bring fair and dry conditions Sunday and persisting over the day Monday, then followed with mostly cloudy with a chance for mix of showers and flurries Monday night and Tuesday. Light to moderate ridge winds are expected through most of the outlook period, with freezing levels in the range of 2000-2500 m as well.

Visitors should be aware that mountain weather can be variable and change quickly. Daytime temperatures can be 5C to 10C degrees cooler at the summit and sky conditions may vary with elevation. Summit levels are also often breezier as wind flows unimpeded by trees and buildings. If you are headed to the top, be prepared, dress appropriately and you be sure to enjoy all that Big White Mountain Resort has to offer.
